Travel Recommendations

Our Recommendation There are different kinds of travellers seeking different things on their trip. But here are some of our recommendations to help you explore Ranikhet better.

Jhoola Devi temple: If you are in Ranikhet, do visit the Jhula Devi temple. Legend has it that every wish made here comes true and the millions of bells tied by visitors inside the temple is testimony to it.

Drive to Rani Jheel: While returning, take the jungle route from the West View hotel. The drive to Rani Jheel is one of the most mesmerizing drives you will come across!

Lunch at Ranikhet Club: Do stop for a meal at the Ranikhet Club. The club is more than 150 years old and has a beautiful architecture. (Please note: Entry is only for members, so do let us know in advance so we can help you with a guest entry.)

Drive to Golf Course: After lunch, go on a drive towards the Golf Course, this too is one charming drive.

Maggi Point: Enjoy Maggi, eggs and pakoras with chai at the Maggi Point near Kalika.

Commonwealth War Graves: You can visit the Ranikhet cemetery and pay your respect to the veterans of the Commonwealth War. It is one of the most beautiful hidden gems of the city.

Kulhad wali chai: The evenings are quite chilly in the hills, and nothing better can keep you warm than a Kulhad Wali Chai at the Hilltop Kitchen near the cemetery.

Dinner at Cafe MeSu: Return to Shivani Foods & Resort for some lip-smacking snacks at Cafe MeSu. Enjoy your dinner, go for a walk under the sky filled with stars.

Kainchi Dham: While you are here, you can visit the famous Kainchi Dham which is only 30-mins away from the hotel.

Pandukholi: Alternatively, you could do a 3-km trek to Pandukholi in Dwarahat. Dwarahat is 30 kms away from the hotel. The drive and trek is likely to consume your entire day, but we bet it’s worth it!

Special note: Ranikhet is an ideal place for long drives and small treks, and there is nothing more stunning than a sunrise in the hills! If you missed the sunrise, be prepared to be enchanted by the sunset. Some chai or beer in between may be a good idea!
When in Ranikhet, you will certainly fall in love with the tall pine trees, cute little huts, wooden frames, chirping sound of birds, and hairy mountain dogs.
Wishing you a happy stay. May you go back home with your hearts full.
